Henry (Adam Driver) is a stand-up comedian who falls in love with Ann (Marion Cotillard), a world-renowned opera singer, and the pair live glamorous lives in contemporary Los Angeles. However, when they welcome their daughter Annette into the world, her mysterious gifts change their lives forever. Directed by Leos Carax (in his English language debut), and with a screenplay and music by pop band Sparks, Annette opened the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, and has been called ‘the weirdest movie of the year’ by Variety.
